Getting Started with LinkedIn

Note: Level of complexity is Intermediate; not beginner level.

Social networks are a time and cost-efficient way for financial advisors to market themselves. While social networks like Twitter and Facebook definitely have their place, LinkedIn is by far the most valuable for planners and advisors.

LinkedIn is now an all-in-one professional social media network because it allows users showcase their skills and experience, create original content, keep in touch with current clients and centers of influence as well as prospect new clients. If you want to make the most of your social media activity it should not be used just as a passive digital resume.

In this presentation Steve Fox will go over how to properly set up your LinkedIn account, write a good summary, develop your network, create and personalize your content, stay on top of mind with your connections, and how to do prospecting and be creative with this powerful tool.

About the Speaker:

Steve Fox is a Regional Advisor Consultant in the Putnam Retail Management group. He is responsible for working with financial advisors in the San Francisco Bay Area to provide market and economic commentary, as well as updates and insight on Putnam’s products and services. Steve Fox, who holds Series 6, 63, 7, and 65 licenses with FINRA, has been in the investment industry since he joined Putnam in 2013. He holds a B.A. from Brown University in Business Economics.
